My family and I are moving this weekend. This will be our fifth move in five years and third in the last two years. We've become packing pros! We've also grown to appreciate the minimalist way of going about everyday life. The four of us currently live in just under 1000 sq ft. There is no room for that 'I might need it again someday' item. Either we use it or we don't. And, with two kids, that requires almost daily purging. We made the difficult choice to downsize in the fall of '09. We went from more than 3000 sq ft to basically where we are today. It was a painful transition that took place over quite some time but I can honestly say that choice is one of the best decisions my husband and I have made in our 12 years.
Oh gosh. I got WAY off track. I had only planned to let you know why the blog hasn't been updated for a bit - we're busy packing. We'll be back soon with regular posts!
