This year was no exception. I was treated to a wonderful breakfast of eggs, fruit, turkey bacon, bagels and coffee, a treat for this nursing mom! After breakfast I had to find my gifts. Sister had hidden them throughout the house, like we did for her Easter basket and gifts. Hubby reminded her how to tell me I was 'hot' or 'cold' but she was too eager and would tell me I was 'cold' only once before telling me where to look in order to be 'really hot'. I loved the search! One of the gifts, a gift certificate, was from Hubby. He hates giving gift certificates because they're so impersonal. But, I loved it and think it may be one of my favorite mom's day gifts so far! I've wanted a rug for our living room for quite a while but hadn't found the right one, until last week when I found one I liked. I wasn't sure I should I spend the money on it because I'm the only one who really wants it and he really doesn't see the need. In fact, he thinks it doesn't make sense at all to put a rug on carpet. 'But it defines the space' I say. His gift certificate meant so much more than a rug to define our living room space. He knew it meant a lot to me and that's all that mattered.
We enjoyed church, a quiet afternoon at home, and dinner with family. It was day that nurtured my soul.
